Using USB 1.1 cables with a USB 2.0 drive

Drives affected: Media Center, Dual-option Backup, Dual-option USB, Essential USB, USB, Combo, My Book (all USB).
It is possible to use a standard USB 1.1 cable with WD USB 2.0 drives.

However, the USB 2.0 cables have been through testing to verify that they meet faster data rate requirements. It is recommended that you use the cable that is provided with the drive.
